Manny Pacquiao vs Joshua Clottey

Round 7. Manny was hit on his face with a strong job.
Manny hit Clottey several times his body but still standing.
Manny was hit below the belt.
And the fight was stop for a few seconds.
There was head butt. And the fight was stopped.
Now Clottey is heavily boxed.
And for several seconds Clottey could not box Manny.
Manny was hit on his nape when they clutched. Clottey was warned by the referee.
Clottey was losing in every round,Clottey's side said.

Round 9.
Clottey could not see where he is being hit by Manny.
This time Clottey hit Manny several straights.
But Manny was coming in with his body-face hits.
The commentator said, the Manny's hits were six to one.

They had head butt.
The fight was stopped for a moment
Manny made a sign of a cross.
No knockout. But it was an impressive win for Manny Pacquiao.

End of the bout.

Decision: Unanimous decision.
Winner: Manny Pacquiao, still the welterweight world champion.

After the fight, Manny was interviewed: He said he dominated the fight after round one, but Clottey was looking for a good shut. "I know he is a strong fighter", Manny said.
When Manny was asked when he will go back to the ring, he said he does not know when he will be going back to fight.
But he said, he will talk about it after the election.
Manny is running in a local election in Mindanao.
Although Manny did not really hit him much, but Manny was fast, Clottey said during the interview.

One Filipino said: Clottey is from Ghana, pero walang kagana-ganang kalaban.
Many Filipinos were not so happy of the fight because Clottey kept on covering his face with his globes.

Congratulations to Edna Laurente Faral

The Philippine Performing Arts Company of Tampa Bay won first place in the World Culture Folk Dance Competition 2010 in Azales International Folk Fair, Valdosta, Georgia on March 6, 2010. This is the second time that the PPCA won this contest. One of the dancers here is Edna Laurente Faral, an Aklanon, and her son Concon.

Edna Faral

Yesterday, February 25, 2010 (Philippine time), Edna Romulo Laurente Faral, the Pride of Batan, Aklan, and one of the best Aklanon poets celebrated her birthday.

I hope that she and still is very happy during this memorable day.

Her birthday coincides with the Edsa Celebration.

Unfortunately, this momentous moment in the Philippine history was not declared a holiday. Last Monday, February 22, it was declared a class holiday throughout the Philippines but all employees had to report for work. And it was not a pasyal day for workers.

I wrote short poem for her:

Sunz birthday--
nagpueondo it pagsinaot
ro mga dahon it Sunflowers

Again, Happy, happy birthday to you Sunz.
